$68m of funding to ASQA to support implementation of new training standards

An additional $68 million in funding over four years has been allocated to the Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA) to maintain the highest standards in the skills and training sector as new training standards come into effect. ASQA will be holding national information sessions on the new standards in both capital cities and major regional centres to ensure RTOs have full details about the changes and expectations for service delivery. Applications open for new round of Community Learning funding

The Queensland Government is providing $47 million of funding under the latest round of the five-year Community Learning program. Applications are now open to RTOs and community organisations and will close on Friday 31 October 2014. Click here to find out more

AQF council disbanded

The Australian Qualifications Framework Council which is responsible for the governance of the Australian Qualifications Framework has been disbanded. The residual functions of the Council will be transferred to the Department of Education. View AQF September newsletter

COAG Industry and Skills Council

Hon Ian Macfarlane MP, chaired the second meeting of the Council of Australian Governments (COAG) Industry and Skills Council on 26 September 2014.
